To provide journey planning and safety services, we store the following data points if provided by the user:
Identity & Access
- • Email Address: Used for system invites, account recovery, and anti-spam measures. Email verification is mandatory for core features.
- • Display Name: Your preferred identifier within the Globetrottr ecosystem.
Travel Context
- • Location Data: Home city and country to optimize itinerary starting points.
- • Health Data: Blood type and allergies, used exclusively for emergency coordination.

If you opt-in to our safety features, we store emergency contact information to assist in critical situations. This includes:

AI Features & Google Gemini
Globetrottr uses Google Gemini to power AI planning features. AI is strictly opt-in: you must explicitly grant consent via an in-app screen before any trip data is sent to Google, and you can revoke consent at any time from Settings. Until consent is granted, no AI features are available and no data leaves Globetrottr's infrastructure for AI processing.

Google's use of this data is governed by their AI Principles and Privacy Policy. Globetrottr does not sell your trip data, use it for advertising, or share it with any other third party.
Data Usage & Sharing
Data is used solely for internal application logic, such as group coordination and itinerary generation. The only third party that receives any of your data is Google, via the Gemini API, as detailed in the AI Features section above — and only with your explicit consent. There are no advertising trackers or external data brokers integrated into the Globetrottr infrastructure.
